Jennifer and Doug held their wedding at the Lucy Evans Lauren garden in Point Loma on a perfect San Diego spring day. They found the garden through a friend of theirs that lives just down the street, and although the garden had never held a ceremony Jennifer and Doug wrote a letter to the foundation asking if they could be the first couple to have their ceremony at the garden. It pays to ask, because the garden was happy to have them, and it provided a great intimate personal setting for their ceremony. Jennifer got dressed at her friend’s home just down the road from the garden, and walked with her sister, mother, and friends to the ceremony. Doug’s friend and college roomate officiated the ceremony while their friends and family members filled the garden to share their day.
My good friend and fellow photographer Pete Redel was in town after WPPI to photograph a wedding of his own for a couple from DC and stuck around to help me out with Jennifer and Doug’s wedding in Point Loma. After the ceremony we took Doug and Jennifer down to Shelter Island for a few additional portraits before heading to the Porto Vista Hotel rooftop for their reception. They had a family style dinner before dancing, and even though the marine layer rolled in over the bay, it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits on the dance floor. Check out a few of the images below, and keep an eye on the podcast for a bunch more images!
