For me Christiana and Nick’s wedding can be summed up in one word ‘Travel’. I traveled, Nick’s family traveled, and the Bees traveled to Maryland for Christiana and Nick’s wedding, but the traveling started before that. Christiana and Nick met while Christiana was traveling on work. After a chance meeting they traveled together half-way across the country to Florida where they took up a brief residence. Nick ultimately had to travel back to England prior to their wedding so Christiana traveled across the Atlantic to meet his family and stay with him while she planned, long distance all the details for their wedding. When Christiana started planning her wedding, she began a blog, and then became a contributor to WeddingBee.com. In the process, she made friends with other contributors and readers, so much so that she invited several ‘Bees’ to attend her wedding and they traveled from near and far to celebrate and see all the months of planning come to fruition.
They held their ceremony and reception at the Oakland Manor in Columbia. The weather had been touch and go all day, and after all the planning across two continents everyone was praying that the weather would hold at least long enough for Christiana and Nick to have their ceremony in the Bishop’s garden … no relation
Everyone’s prayers and crossed fingers worked long enough to get through the ceremony and some quick portraits under the fading light before the rain came. After that the guests retired inside the tent for dinner, then dancing inside the Manor courtesy of Evan Reitmeyer. Evan as always, worked the crowd and had the help of Christiana and Nick’s rocking list of songs.
